Torsk
This incredibly popular fish can be found everywhere in the Saetherjar Islands, so much so that it is often stated one can walk on them. This is obviously hyperbolous, but at certain times of year it can be close to true. What is more accurate however, is that the deep waters just to the west are popular with these fish, and many a livelyhood on the island is based around them. Being island people, almost all living on the coasts and needing easy access to boats, the people of the Saetherjar are well equiped to catch and sell off these fish to the mainland, where they are popular in many of the surrounding duchies, especially those that can be reached in a single days travel. While some shipping is done in magical cold boxes, or using other magics to keep them fresh, they are not popular on the other side of Albion fresh, and it is only ever eaten there salted.
The fish is popular mostly because of its mild taste, size, and the bulk of its bones. This makes it easy to prepare, flavour, and incorporate into many dishes, and as such is well known, and in most places when you refer to fish, you are talking about torsk, which is its specific name in the very fishy saetherjar islands.
