Heart of the Desert

This small oasis, consisting of a small pond sitting within a depression in the desert some 20 miles across, is likely the most isolated location on the planet. Sitting 6-10 days travel from the nearest other oasis, itself a small, very isolated pond, and thourougly off the path of any trade routes, the heart of the desert is extremely difficult to reach. As such, it has become a gathering point for the druidic association of the desert, a very loosly bound group that defend the The Sandblasted sea with the very fury that gives the sea its name. A few huts, a small herb garden, and the permanent guardian of the oasis are normally always here, but once every few years, by some unknown means, all 3-400 druids of the desert will congregate here for a few weeks, before dispersing again across the most hostile environment on the planet.

Geography

Sitting within the skrae depression, 600 miles to the south south east of the most northern part of the desert, this small pond is formed by the collection of rainwater within the below ground aquifer poking above the ground at this, the lowest point. Producing only a couple hundred liters a year, it is only just capable of supporting a few dozen trees and the couple hundred plants that can be seen around.

Ecosystem

A small community of rodents are the only large animal living by the oasis, eating off of the many insects that call this place home. Those insects, as well as the rodents, eat the many plants that sprang up around the oasis, mostly mildly adapted desert plants. A few large acacia trees also call this area home, using their deep roots to exploit even more water. A single druid also calls this oasis home, subsisting on the plants as well as the untapped magical energy of this area of the desert.
