The Changed

The original world was rich with variety, elves, dwarves, and halflings, and much more populated the world. However with the Stifling the magic which made them greater was removed, and slowly they found that their fantastical natures were disappearing, all moving towards a focal point which was named Human. The Humans survived and thrived in the new world, the melding of cultures and thought styles of all the different races gave rise to a world of creation and innovation. With time their history was forgotten and the many races of the world officially became one of the Human race. Star Fall changed all of this. With the return of the magic many were changed, their long forgotten ancestries returning. For an unknown reason not all were effected by the change, many remained as humans. Those who were effected by the initial change though received only small changes at first, longer ears, extended life spans, small magical capabilities. With time many experienced greater changes, finding themselves growing or shrinking, putting on body mass, finding themselves faster or stronger than before. The biggest change however was noticed in their children, those born in the years after Star Fall were born as full blooded members of their ancestry. Now 25 years later the worlds population has truly began to become fantastical again, with the younger generation now growing.
During the initial change there was no understanding of what was occurring, many viewed the changes and those who were changed as monstrous, something to be shunned and hated as symbolic of their fear of change and all the changes which were occurring around them. This first generation were referred to as the Changed, and many who were pushed out of their homes found solace and a new home in the Stars Chosen.
In recent years there is still in many places fear and uncertainty regarding the changed and their children, the new races. This ostracizing has lead to communities being built outside the human cities where the new races are able to congregate. In some areas these communities even grow to larger sizes than their human city counterparts. Interestingly enough many of the new race cities while accepting of others and even taking in humans are fairly homogenous in their makeup.
