The Nights of Terror

While celebrations for the 250th year of the empire are held within the kingdom, the capital of Dawnstar especially, Conrand Virleth and his followers arrive in Dawnstar. For the next few days, they attempt to strategically kill off the members of the tower diplomats thing, and the king. A few of the members are killed, and the king is greatly wounded by Conrand's magic while the king makes a public appearance speech during the festivities, despite warnings of the danger after a council member was killed the night before. After panic erupts, Conrand and his followers are able to make it out of the city in the following days and weeks. The king recovers with time, but the spell used against him cripples him for the rest of his life.
