Conrand Virleth attacks Plainview

Conrand Virleth, a powerful and notorious half elven mage, and his followers attack Plainview using magic and creating undead within the crypts and graves within the city. The undead hoard attacks the town's population, killing much of the town. While the horde is contained and killed off by the city's guardsmen, it leaves a lasting impression on the land. Much of the region and surrounding cities burn their dead shortly after death to this day as a result of this cultural event.
  Conrand Virleth escapes with his followers, only one managing to be captured by the townspeople. He is interrogated for days about the massacre, and eventually discovered to be one of Conrand Virleth's closest aids. He is soon after tied to a post in the middle of the town and burned alive until death as a demonstration of force.
