Grimbolt Bristlestrum

(a.k.a. Grym)

"History doesn't lie! Humans do. Among other races, I suppose." -Grimbolt Bristlestrum
Grimbolt Bristlestrum, often referred to in his work as Grym or Grimbolt, is an author and historian famous for his books and lectures on the history of the known world. His topics range from the histories of the natural world, theories of the divine, and recurring fascination and appreciation of recipes for stews.   Grimbolt is known for a variety of publicly released articles, historical accounts, books, and recorded lectures. Some of the most commonly known are briefly listed in the section below. Grimbolt has a recognition from the wider community as an admirable historian, when he is invested in the truth, but often times takes liberties with the material bordering on propaganda. He will often praise positions of power from the past as noble heroes while also being blunt enough to attack others in the current political discourse.   An example of Grimbolt taking things too far is in (year) when he published an article about the lack of delicacies in Clearwater, giving his opinion and review on the dishes ordered at a middle-priced establishment. Little did he know at the time, certain details that he divulged seemed eerily similar to evidence of a (drug den). It wasn't long after that thugs soon came knocking on Grimbolt's door and lead to his kidnapping for some time until he reemerged. When he finally made his appearance in his newest article nearly a year later, it was filled with tales of his kidnapping and heroic escape from a creature infested dungeon. It later came to light that a group of adventurers came across the dungeon for an unrelated search for treasure and saved him from his fate. When rumors began spreading, he re-released his account with an addendum that the dungeon was "dark and hard to see". When asked about his gnome heritage and their commonly found trait known as 'Dark Vision', which allows the creature to see in miminal lighting conditions, the author had no comment.   Known Works:
