Ice Ducks are a species of magical creatures found in the fae realm Mag Mell. They appear as small, duck-like figures made entirely out of ice and snow, with eyes, beaks, and feet resembling those of a regular duck. The origin of these mysterious beings is shrouded in mystery; some say they were created by an ancient fae who wished to bring life to the icy plains of Mag Mell. Others believe that they were born from a single drop of water blessed by powerful fairy magic, which permeates all of the fae realm.
The Ice Ducks lead simple lives, spending their days swimming along frozen streams and waddling across snowy fields searching for food. Despite their fragile appearance, they possess incredible strength and resilience. Thanks to their magical nature, these birds can survive temperatures far below freezing without any ill effects. In fact, many find comfort in frigid weather, even when plunged into complete darkness or surrounded by blizzards.
Though not overly friendly towards strangers due to the fear brought on by centuries spent isolated from civilization, Ice Ducks will eventually warm up if offered treats such as freshly cooked fish or sweet pastries (though it’s best not to try your luck). As rare tourists begin exploring this corner of the fae realm more often than before, sightings of these majestic creatures have become much more common, providing those lucky enough with a glimpse into one of nature’s most wondrous secrets.
