Fey Day

3rd of Edril- Fey Day, the festival of Faerie Kind is celebrated on the Vernal Equinox. The equilibrium between day and night stretches the barrier between the material plane and the Feywild to its thinnest point all year. On this day, travel to and from the Feywild is at its easiest. During the day and night throughout Al'Uvium portals are known to open allowing the fey entry. Prior to the Fey Day events communities choose one representative as the Fey Fool. The Fey Fool is tasked with being the ambassador of the community and keeping any faeries entertained. Celebrations are held in honor of the Fey arrivals so the Faeries may feel welcome and appreciated should a portal open near a community. Faeries whom feel unappreciated are known to behave in unpredictable often destructive ways. The celebrations usually include a feast of honor for the Faeries, that is attended by everyone in the community featuring a place of honor for any Fey folk who may arrive. Additionally every home in the village or town brings a gift of candy or pastries for the faeries. Should no Faeries arrive, which is most often the case, at midnight the fey fool collects all the sweets and randomly places them on the stoops of every house in the village, these gifts are opened the next morning. The tradition has expanded so that communities often give Fey Day Gifts aside from those affiliated with the celebration to friends and family on the morning or day following Fey Day as a means of course, particularly to children.
