Festival of Erudition

24th of Erathindur- The Festival of Erudition is the feast day of Ioun, Former high god of the College of Divine Scholars. After her near death at the hands of her closest friend, Asmodius, during his betrayal to become one of the Doomward gods, sentiment shifted toward Ioun. Prior to her wounding she had been thought cold and aloof. The result being she had few followers and no holy day of worship or festival. But following the stories of her near death at the hands of a trusted friend many mortals began to empathize with her. The Festival of Erudition was begun on the Isle of Drakes as a way to give strength to Ioun in her time of need. The holiday grew in popularity and spread quickly until finally nearly every nation in Al'Uvium celebrated it in some form or another. Celebrations include puzzles, games of the mind. Mathematics competitions, Spelling Bees, and reading. It has become traditional for communities to add books to their libraries during the festival of Erudition. Rich families may also provide their children with new books on this day.
