Colonel Akir Abd al-Himaya
Represents The Defenders in chambers. Al-Himaya is in
charge of defending the city against attack whenever
the mamluk armies are abroad. In reality, his
organizations act as a city guard as well as mediators,
settling arguments between members of the other
military societies. The colonel's position is slightly
weaker than that of other mamluk leaders, so he must
often trade favors (such as valiant assignments or
secret information) in return for action on their part.
