Session 2 - Knox or Graves
General Summary
The party began establishing their new base. Food delivery was set up (costing 40 gold a month). Beds were ordered and delivered by sessions end.
Ekta and Charles discovered a poster claiming that Knox was actually someone called Edward Graves and that his brother Victor was looking for him. The poster claimed Knox was delusion and a danger to himself and others. Eventually meeting with Victor, Charles came to the conclusion that Victor was lying and revealed the poster to Knox.
The party decided to work for a member of the Weeping Church, Sorrowful Merrow, to investigate a suspected curse on a fountain in Varlok Market Square. 4 people had been drowned in the fountain on 4 different nights before the market square was ordered closed. The party discovered the cause of these deaths was a Water Weird summoned and bound to the fountain.
The water weird was destroyed by the party leaving behind an ivory skull that was the focus of its summoning. Evidence pointed towards a group claiming to be the Unliving, an old death cult from Akram's history. The prime suspect was a merchant named Isham Keiler who left the market after the first death and had a symbol of the Unliving in his market tent.
The party also gained the eye of a group known as the Watchmen by unwittingly taking their recruitment poster from a notice board. After an initial crossbow bolt delivered message that promised they would see the party soon a second message arrived in the same manner. This message included an invite to a meeting.
