Session 0.1: TaleSpire and Primer Report
General Summary
Players downloaded, installed, and started up TaleSpire. The DM sent around invite links so the players could join, and each one picked a figure from amongst the TaleSpire repertoire to represent their characters.
We discovered that HeroForge does, in fact, link to TaleSpire, and excitedly began designing characters, before realizing that (sadly) it would cost $8 per character as a digital download for them to show up in TaleSpire. Plans of gifts of characters were bandied around, but ultimately the HeroForge option was abandoned.
Next, the DM explained where the players would be opening: a merchant caravan, taking their goods from the Dragon Coast in the east to the Sword Coast in the west. Players were asked to share what their characters might exhibit in terms of first impressions and personalities along the trail, as well as any backstory they'd be willing to share around a campfire.
Uthal (humanoid) is a very large man with pale bluish skin. He is rather intimidating at first, but he is a craftsman and cleric, and is fairly helpful around the caravan. He's looking to improve his smithing skills, specifically with weapons. Jawn (humanoid) is very intense. He's tall and slender, with golden eyes, and his focus is on proving himself worthy of his sorcery. Egan (genasi) has a lot of anger issues, and occasionally, his hair will be set on fire when his emotions are potent enough. The reason he's with the caravan is that he's been called by his former mentor to head into town. Nutmeg (fairy) is flighty, with happiness issues. She is a little vague on why she's along, but it could be that it's because she doesn't know either. Or maybe she does.
