The Last Spring Store

Rahenziyun and the Last Spring

When you sail to the edge of Celestial Sea of Akayun's Worlds, no matter where which direction you sail, you will always find your ships bow facing the Last Spring. First you'll smell strange fragrance, as the sky fills with prismatic color. Then you'll see strange debris, chunks of iron and coal, and severed bits of animals flowing towards you in a stream from the horizon. Next you'll begin to see flecks of gold and brassy dust, mixed with the occasional vibrant hue. As trinkets blow into view, a spring of jewels atop a grassy meadow peaks over the horizon, .

Once beneath the prismatic sky, you are within the world known to sages as Rahenziyun, and to thieves as the Well of Wizard Wages. At the heart of this realm stands the Last Spring, out of which comes every hair and jewel consumed by the spells cast throughout the worlds. The small prices paid to Rahenzi, the god of magic, for the brief control over the weave of magic, all collected here. This Realm is the last realm, beneath, above, and around all of Akayun's Worlds. Beyond it is a place where magic cannot reach, a place to go and never return. It shall remain unknown what axioms will hold true beyond the divine and arcane, and what 'laws' are only the guiding hands of the gods.

The Last Spring Store

A structure is carved into the earth and stone beneath the meadow. This is known to be the abode of the god Rahenzi, filled with an endless supply of every magical component for every worldly spell, even spells forgotten, even spells yet to be found. The shades of color in the stone walls appear many times more saturated and contrasting compared to the rock that forms Altani's Tower. The interior is carved out in a maze-like structure, sometimes with straight lines and sharp angles, sometimes more wildly winding like a twisting vine.

The Merchants

The stock is replenished constantly from the Last Spring by the Spring Merchants, angelic beings who serve Rahenzi and their realm. They travel throughout the Worlds in myriad forms, selling materials back to someday be expended again. Only the Merchants and Rahenzi themself can find their way through the maze of the Store.

The Return Home

Whichever direction you may set sail from the City of Pillars, every path converges to one. From within Rahenziyun, only correct navigation to that path will you lead you home. Otherwise, your vessel will appear to sail out from under the prismatic sky, but soon you'll find yourself once again before the Last Spring

Beyond

Following the path opposite from home, your vessel will sail beyond the veil, out of the reach of the gods, out of the reach of magic, and out of the reach of the Truce. All tethers to the worlds within are severed. Can your ship sail in a starless sea?
