The Sugar Star

I come here for my morning coffee and my some-nightly cocktail. I'm sure the owner sleeps, but I see him running the cafe and the bar, so when does he sleep?

"Describe a building in your world that is used for leisure pursuits. What does it look like, and what do people do there?"
The Sugar Star is a cafe-bar hybrid run by Melvin Clancy, local father and man about town. From 7 AM to 1 PM, it functions as a cafe with coffee and sweets, and from 4 PM to 1 AM it functions as a bar. Of course, it's not unheard of for the morning's leftovers to make their way around the bar at night.
The Sugar Star itself is a rather unassuming boxy building on the street corner. The fanciest it gets is the neon sign announcing its presence and maybe some light sculptures on the inside. The interior feels very inviting, somehow straddling the line between cozy cafe and charming bar at the same time. Even if it doesn't look like much, the staff do their best to make people feel comfortable when they arrive.
People stop by for their morning caffeine rituals and for treats. In the morning, you're more likely to find Melvin's associate Tatiana running the cafe with her daughter Naia, but Melvin can sometimes be found checking in later in the day.
In the later hours, Melvin is typically up serving all kinds of cocktails, though he favors sweet and fruity ones alongside the usual bar beers and ciders.

Cafe

Ranna Merli - Melvin's new girlfriend. Drinks sweetened lattes and enjoys fruit breads.
Asher Kishvanu - Stops by on his own to stock up on (read: gorge on) sweets without being judged. (Or at least, he hopes that there's no judgment in the Sugar Star.)
Rhett Chelas - Sometimes stops by to spoil Asher a bit with a treat and seems to be unaware that Asher comes here often.
Lyalia Ildun - Likes fruit breads and chocolate croissants. Enjoys coffee/tea/smoothie dates with Mio.
Mio Tennon - Mostly just comes during the day because Lyalia does.

Bar

Rhea Lee - Often comes with Tiela and likes fruity drinks. Starts saying very strange things when she gets too drunk...
Tiela Litu - Generally doesn't come without Rhea, but likes bubbly drinks on occasion.
Lyalia Ildun - Drinks everything out of curiosity and often falls asleep on the bar counter. It's okay though, Mio takes her home.
Mio Tennon - Drinks light mostly because she needs to carry Lyalia home, but likes spritzers.
Asher Kishvanu - He doesn't drink too much, but there are tales of him having one too many and annihilating an entire medium-to-large pizza when he got home.
Rhett Chelas - Drinks like a fish. Drinks everything. Loves drinking games and contests. The champion of That One Beer Pong Incident. How does he do it? Who knows.
Vera Clancy - This is a joke because Melvin's daughter is too young to drink, but he always has a cherry soda or orange juice ready for her (and anyone else below the drinking age, for that matter).
