Akrelus

“They say Lady Katsuna is kind. That she doesn’t want it to be a shock, so she sends a warning. She lets you say goodbye.”   ”And time to run?”

”She knows you might run, that you might try to escape her. She is patient, she is inevitable, she knows, and she will envelop you eventually. So she let you know a head of time. The Akrelus will look into your eyes and return home. They will be waiting for you when you get there.”

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Akrelus are canine like creatures with horns that curve back around their ears, and two rows of teeth. It’s speculated that the Akrelus has these features to protect itself, not from natural predators but from people who try to harm them, as there are no known natural predators. According to those few who have seen the Akrelus but have not made eye contact it appears that it will stop occasionally and open a small subset of eyes beneath its primary set of eyes. Theses eyes are seen without pupils or irises.

Ecology and Habitats

Nothing is known about any natural habit the Akrelus may or may not even have. Observations have only taken place at temples of Katsuna Goddess of Spirits, which have dedicated spots for them to rest.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Like most canines, they have a diet of primarily meat. Though not much is known about how they hunt or obtain food outside of the temples.

Behaviour

Most Akrelus seem to be solitary animals. They are friendly to others of their kind but don't stay together for long before going their separate ways. In regards to people, they seem more stand-offish but not outwardly hostile. An exception was made of course for those at the temples, who they seem to be much more friendly toward. They seem to be quite intelligent animals with an understanding of intention and emotion to those who would take care of it, which we don't see in most other non-domesticated animals.
