Some of those people find themselves working with the clockwork technology that has become staple in the big cities while some have delved into the prestigious gem-tech studies. Regardless, these individuals have a knack for working with machines and other magic-powered devices.

Eventually, these individuals find mentors or places of employment that put their skills to use. It is during their professional lives that the individuals truly hone their skills.
Some individuals find themselves more of the independent and sometimes less fortunate in that they hold no position and are left to their own devices. These individuals often make gizmos and other creations out of anything they can find, be it scrap or stolen materials.

Being skilled at using or repairing technology is always something one can get payment for. For the official establishments this comes in the forms of standard payment means. For those of the lesser status, it may be money or instead it may be materials or favors paid.
