Grifter
Perception
Social Status
Grifters are usually looked at as lowlife parasites by all, not welcome anywhere except in places of the most ill-reputed. Most of the time the grifter puts on a face to avoid such social downfalls.
Demographics
Often from the lower societies (although not exclusively), grifters learn their trade from gambling at taverns and other places of gathering where such activity is common.
History
Stealing and cheating others is an age-old bad habit of people. Grifter's have been aroud as long as people were willing to cheat their fellow man out of a few coins.
The simplicity of this changed when the Trickster began interacting with civilization. He would grant his power to a grifter to see what kind of chaos and enjoyment would be provided. The grifters in league with the Trickster have more power than people realize, but it comes at a cost even the individual themself doesn't fully understand.
Operations
Tools
Grifters often carry a variety of tools to help them swindle and steal things from their marks. Anything from fake cards, loaded dice, lockpicks; anything that will either help to cheat or steal their way into wealth.
Dangers & Hazards
The most obvious hazard is the jail cell should the grifter get caught. Now, in more remote locations they are just as likely to get the sharp end of a blade as they are to be arrested.
