Kenzaburo Kawasaki was born in 2040 NA to Tōshirō and Mikako Kawasaki. He was sheltered as a child, raised within the insular world of the Zaibatsu's corporate elite. Despite this upbringing, Kenzaburo remained an idealistic and principled young man. He was troubled by the Zaibatsu's exploitative and unethical practices, which clashed with his sense of justice and compassion.
When Kenzaburo took over the Zaibatsu after his father died, he hoped to reform the company by reducing abuses, treating demihumans more fairly, and operating with more integrity. However, Kenzaburo underestimated the entrenched interests and institutional inertia within the Zaibatsu. He lacked his father's ruthlessness and willingness to crush opposition through force. His principled nature proved ineffective at actually changing systems of power and corruption.
