Ryūnosuke is the youngest son of Shingen Kawasaki, CEO of the Kawasaki Zaibatsu, and Naoko Nakashima, Boss of the Nakashima Yakuza. To say he didn’t have a pleasant childhood would be a major understatement. The Kawasaki Zaibatsu waged war against the Dire Talon, a demihuman terrorist organization. His father would come home and expel his anger by verbally and emotionally abusing Ryūnosuke. His brother Sosuke was no better; He was a borderline sociopath who, along with his posse, would physically torment him for petty reasons like looking at him wrong. Ryūnosuke was closer to five people, his grandfather Kenzaburo, his mother Naoko, his sister Harumi, his cousin Hiroshi, and his uncle Toshinori. Despite being a yakuza lieutenant, Toshinori is the closest thing Ryūnosuke has to a genuine father figure. His mother, while distant due to yakuza business, offered him a chance to study abroad at Grand Ridge Academy, to get him away from his father and to build up confidence.

Ryūnosuke is a second-year student at Grand Ridge Academy, where he receives a well-rounded education that combines academic studies with combat training and adventure skills.
