Raskvot Fleece

In the Trisian Valley and the plains to the east, farmers tend herds of raskvot, a large, horned herbivore with thick, soft hair. While occasionally raised for meat, most raskvot live pampered lives with daily grooming to increase the value of their fleece. Raskvots can typically be sheared 2-3 times each year and produce 2 bales of raw wool per animal. The fleece is favored among textiles for its softness, warmth, and ability to take dyes. Once the bales have been processed and sorted by grade and color, the fleece is spun into varying weights based on its intended use: fine to heavy threads for making clothing and coarse thread for use in rugs, blankets, and tapestries.
