Lich

Liches are ancient and terrible spellcasters who have transcended mortal life through dark and forbidden necromantic rituals. By binding their souls to phylacteries—arcane vessels hidden from the world—they achieve undeath, granting themselves immortality at a terrible cost: the loss of their humanity and a soul increasingly consumed by cold calculation and hunger for power.

Liches command vast knowledge of magic, especially necromancy, and often wield control over legions of undead servants. Their bodies are gaunt and withered, their flesh decayed but their eyes burning with unholy intelligence. They dwell in crypts, forgotten towers, or hidden sanctuaries, places filled with protective wards and cursed traps.

While some liches seek only personal power and preservation, others are cunning strategists influencing kingdoms and pantheons from the shadows. Their motives can range from bitter vengeance to cold ambition, and many have survived multiple ages, becoming living legends—or nightmares.
