Dugg, Unknowing God of Ale
Dugg is a divine anomaly—an accidental god whose rise to divinity was neither willed nor noticed by himself. Once a jolly dwarven brewer who ran a mountain tavern known for its endless warmth and endless mugs, Dugg unknowingly infused one of his brews with a fragment of the divine Weave, creating the Ale of Ascension. Those who drank it were granted improbable luck, fleeting insight, and, occasionally, divine visions. The brew was shared across the land, spreading joy and small miracles before anyone knew the source.
Somewhere along the way, Dugg simply became a god—but no one, not even Dugg, knows precisely when. He wanders from tavern to tavern in mortal guise, handing out mugs and laughs, unaware that toasting with him is a sacred rite. He has no temple, no pantheon, and no clergy—only rumors, songs, and a growing number of lucky drunks who swear they’ve met him.
Though he doesn’t command power in the traditional sense, Dugg’s influence is felt in every roaring fire, spilled pint, or lucky roll of the dice. He is the patron of accidental heroes, foolish wisdom, and those who stumble into greatness, usually with a mug in hand and no clue how they got there.
