Not all citizens of the Republic are happy in their lot, and some oppose the authorities, either directly or indirectly.
Grey Preachers
Borderline heretical fellowship which stands for simplicity and charity among the Church, the dissolution of Church estates and the redistribution of personal wealth held by the Regents or other priests.
Nationalists
A wide array of independence movements, opposed to the central authority of the Republic and the Church. They are mostly big on local traditions that date back to the reign of the Sovereigns.
Sythics
Cells of snake cultists with links to the cult of the Three-Headed Serpent and the Empire of Ysseth. They offer glimpses of the arcane and the mystical to lure people in and recruit them as spies for the Empire.
Woodkeepers
Eco-terrorist movement, mainly consisting of wood elves and forest gnomes, opposing the growth of urbanisation, enclosures and deforestation. Some are peaceful, but most are violent.
Arcanists
Typically local mystery cults, hoarding fragments of magical lore and dabbling in wizardry. Many end up as warlocks, while others fall under the influence of the Sythics in their search for magical secrets.
