In the south of the dome, the sun-warmed waters of the Ocean of Noon wash against the living wall of the Reef. The ocean is miles deep, but beyond the Reef lie the Shallows, where water surges and roils, no more than two feet deep, tidal forces dragging at the feet as if urging travellers on beyond the borderland.
The careless traveller can easily find themselves washed into the waters of the Eternal Sea, where deep waters and treacherous currents criss-cross even the safest areas. Here, grand palaces float, on the surface and beneath, while other settlements line the backs - or the bellies - of impossibly vast leviathans. In the depths of the Eternal Sea, vast treasures can be found, but also chasms and shafts which lead to the Trench, the lightless depths which flow into the annihilating waves of the
Black Ocean.
