The land around the border with the Eastern Expanse is rich, and cut by fertile rivers, creating the great, verdant grasslands of the
Green Sea. This plain extends far beyond the boundary, but has its heart beneath the vast, sky-spanning stone curve of the Arch. Beyond this, the rolling hills and towering forests of the borderland of Elysium stretch away into the distance.
Elysium seems at first to extend indefinitely, but those with the endurance find that it eventually gives way to cliffs and caverns. The biological flora and fauna declines, replaced by elemental life;' living veins and outcroppings of ore, precious metals and gems, fed on by beasts of stone and metal. This is the eminence of Terraria, where cities and palaces spring from, or delve into, the living rock, each one resplendent with the riches of the earth. Many adventurers think to make their fortune here, heedless of the vast, treasure-eating 'herbivores' who are heedless of the fleshy things their lunch is attached to, or the depredations of the slavers of the dao city-states, where money talks and others labour.
Deep beneath Terraria, the treacherous stones of Charybdin shift, crack and crumble, threatening to crush, grind or entomb unwary intruders.
