Secondary Races
The Secondary Races are those among the late or slower starters who have enjoyed a sustained period of growth and advancement towards the present day, either in isolation or in cooperation with others. Many of them enjoy substantially higher birth rates than the Cardinal Races, which has allowed them to outgrow them, despite often shorter lifespans.
The religions of the Secondary Races tend to focus on cultural deities, rather than their creators.
- Humans, also called the orphans, are unique in having no recognised creator.
- Gnomes are quick and clever, and adapt easily to different physical and social environments.
- Halflings are a travelling people, since they were displaced from their homes by the fall of Eurosia. Although often distrusted, they are never truly unwelcome.
- Yuan-ti are an oddity, not truly a race, but the result of dark rituals conducted by humans once used as battle fodder by the Regime.
- Tabaxi are a nimble, mountainborn folk.
- Genasi are elemental spirits housed in mortal flesh.
- Minotaur are powerful plains-dwellers, who have used the expertise of others to outgrow their deceptively simple social structures.
- Goblinoids are the descendants of the Horde, one time servants of the Legion. Although often denigrated as simple brutes, they are tough, adaptable and clever.
- Seafolk are the varied descendants of a number of races created to populate the oceans of Aiaos.
