Black Steel

Black steel is a high-strength alloy of iron and carbon. It can be used to create superior weapons and armour, although it is not the equal of adamantine, which it superficially resembles.
The two most common patterns of black steel are Legion iron and Drow ashmetal. They are not identical; the former makes better armour and crushing weapons, and the latter blades which hold a superior edge.
