Azeranzai

The capital of Azeranzerai, at the mouth of the riverine Delta, straddles the channels of the River Salaria on a series of delicate, arching bridges. Deep, deceptively slender piles both anchor and support a mixture of stone-built structures and broad, floating platforms carrying timber buildings. Laid out by the planners of Sept Derezin, it is a city of rare and exceptional beauty, and powered by many water wheels. It is also a major trading hub, marking the navigational limit of the Delta, thanks to the Salaria's sprawling, silt-clogged mouth.
The bulk of the city's population are Kindled of the benefices but also includes Freecoasters and refugees from the Ophionic Empire (mostly Humans and Petari, with a few snakeblooded Virin-yal), Republican traders and diplomats, Vagabonds, Genasi and, as always, Kobolds. Its society is as cosmopolitan as any city in Azeranzeri, save perhaps Csizetterai on the border with the Free Coast.
