Session 6: Temple of the Deep Report

General Summary

The party travels to the Temple of the Deep in search of answers about Acionna and the pacts she makes. On the way they, they encounter a group of druids who claim to know Gloria's granddaughter Alenia. They impart that she had left them a few years ago in search of something an never returned. Gloria was able to meet her great-great granddaughter and her grandson-in-law. They then arrived at the Temple of the Deep and passed a trial in order to meet with the High Priestess of Acionna, Xainya. The ancient yuan-ti answered their questions and granted them rest for the night. They also discovered that Alenia had been heading north to the caves on the shore of the Sunless Sea. 
They traveled to the caves the next day and encountered an Emerald Dragon who said Alenia had offered to retrieve an emerald egg from the nearby ruins for him in exchange for great power, but she had never returned. So they turned their attention to the ruins, their final destination. The Professor left them to their search while he began his own research. They find Alenia and the dragon's egg and return to him with both. While each member takes a boon from the dragon's hoard, Gloria asks the dragon to revive her daughter, a feat that requires Gloria to give up her own life. The price is paid and Alenia is returned to life. The party then returns, with the professor to castleton.
