Risen

Alignment

Life should exist and there is no room for doubt on that. The Risen are universally paragons of life and embrace it to the fullest. By the time they are an adult they find a way of living that just feels right and lean hard into that way of living. What that translates to depends on the culture the Risen is raised in and their personality. A Risen is never evil in the cosmological sense of the word. They go out of their way to rid the world of wrongs they see even if they are in their own culture. This tends to buck against established laws and those the Risen see as hypocrites. This tends to leave them good or chaotic in nature.

Racial Features

Angelic - The Risen have a golden hale and wings which shine from birth. The halo and wings are ethereal in nature and can pass through any barrier a spirit could pass through. The Risen can manifest them with a thought. The wings are always twice as long as the Risen is tall. The wings and halo shine bright light out to 30ft and dim light out an additional 30ft. The light is blocked by anything that could normally block magical light. The Risen can use the wings to gain a hovering flight speed equal to their base speed for up to one minute per day. If the minute ends while in flight they fall gently to the ground.
Greater Purpose – The Risen have a powerful gut feeling for what it is they are meant to do. They have Advantage on all Will saves against fear, demoralization, charmed, and compulsion effects to get them to do something against that purpose.   This race choice requires purchasing the Rare Player Race Feat at character creation to use.
