Aether Crystal Gravitation

Several places exist in the world where masses of land float at various heights, some high in the sky. They are usually not mobile in relation to the planet but some exceptions exist.
Scholars know this phenomenon is a result of the inherent energy in aether crystals. It is believed that after a great many years the energy runs out and the islands fall to the ground, where the aether crystals can once again recharge from the world's energy.
