The Cleanse
A god of disenchantment. The cleanse is centred on the belief that arcanum is untrustable in the hands of mortals. It must be monitored and managed by the powers that be ir, failing that, it must be quelled.
Divine Domains
The enforcers of the Cleanse follow a unique code; the Oath of Abolishment.
Holy Books & Codes
There a number of records in the temples of the Cleanse, each holding historical records of devastation caused by mortals with magical capabilities. Some appear hyperbolic, or mediorce in scale to other dark exploits but nontheless they are all present in these tomes. They are a reminder of the terrible things that magic has done when left in careless hands.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
Worshippers of the Cleanse demonstrate their devotion by keeping a damage page of spellbook paper on their person. Spellbook paper being of a higher quality than most vellum means that it is less durable than any other.
To be able to burn, wet or tear this material is a show of great devotion, especially if one buys it themselves for the purpose of damaging it.
Holidays
Every 9th of Rist, followers of the cleanse create a bonfire on which they burn spell scrolls, spellbook paper and flammable magical items. They break unsanctioned magical utensils with their own divinely made arsenal.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
The Cleanse seeks to rid the world of arcane magic and magical items that were not built by the gods.
