The Banner

There are many a cause for rebellion against established powers; injustice, corruption, a need for change. For every organised power that rules over and safeguards civilization, there are men among the masses that conspire to see their lords dead and replaced with something, or someone who will bring change.   The Banner is the symbol of such transitions, it works to support dissenters in their pushes for change. Protesters are shielded from enforcers of the law, rioters are empowered with divine strength and focus, and rebel forces are shielded from discovery and granted moments of opportunity as if by fate. The Banner is one of the most heavily cursed entities of the Isirian Pantheon; it uses underhanded tactics - unashamed, and has been accredited with numerous terrorist acts. What's more, should the rebellion succeed and establish its new doctrine, The Banner will abandon its followers, never to return until a new group of dissenters blossom to usurp the deity's former apostles.   The Banner is god of change, revered by those who are wronged by governance, and loathed by the passive public and powers that be.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The Banner is represented by various symbols of rebellion. Bricks and stones are the weapons of the unarmed and vulnerable public. Burned or burning cloth embolden those who have suffered too long. The flags and emblem of a new ideal present the promise of change. But by far, the most powerful symbol of The Banner, is the tattered remnants of the established order. Paladins of The Banner wear the ripped and burned remnants of flags and banner, all the emblems of past governance that has collapsed from their fall.

Tenets of Faith

Clergy of The Banner are expected to abandon the factions they run with upon their successful take over, and wait for the next city to fall into unrest. Those who refuse to break ties with the cause they fought for, find that establishing its order is more difficult, or even that its rise to power is shorter-lived than fate would expect.
