Dime of Bartering

A small copper coin with a silver rim. One side of the depicts a hand with a pouch resting in the palm. The other depicts the same hand, except the palm is empty.   wondrous item (coin), artefact (requires attunement)  
  • You gain one unique property.
  • Sage's Speaker. You gain a +1 to your proficiency bonus (maximum of 7). You have disavantage on saving throws whilst in possession of another Opus of the Sages. When you attempt to attune to another Opus of the Sages, you automatically fail and take 33 (5d12) psychic damage.
  • Merchantile Aura. People are compelled to barter with you fairly, just you are compelled to do the same. You have +5 to Charsima checks when asking for a fair price. You have a -5 to Charsima checks when attempting to acquire act on greed.
  • Incredulous Value. The first time a creature attuned to this item, it has a value of 50,000 gold. You can use the dime in place of material components with a cost. This will reduce the dime's value by the required amount. At each dawn, the dime regains 1d10 + your character level in gold value.
  • Invest Fortitude. During a short rest, when you expend one of your hit die to regain hit points, you can choose to permanently remove the hit die. If you do so, the dime restores gold value equal to ten times the maximum of your expended hit die. You cannot recover your hit die, except through the wish spell.
  • Invest Power. During a short rest, you can choose to permanently remove any number of your spell slots. If you do so, the dime restores gold value equal to ten times the levels your expended spell slots. You cannot recover your spell slots, except through the wish spell.
