Karstown is a farming village leaning up to the east side of Adverian Mountain ridge. The town is known in Celdem for its grain productivity and skill as farmers, the town alone annually produces enough grain to feed the capital.

Population

The town consist mostly of humans but have a few families of Nagesh living in the Barrow district. Almost half the population of the town live in the numerous farms littered around the town.  

Class

The wealth is distributed quite evenly throughout the town but the wealthier families live nearest the fort gates. And the Lord Kasper Miller is considered the wealthiest individual in the local region.

Government

Lord Kasper Miller is the protector and owner of the town and surrounding lands. Kasper keeps the local tax low but demand all grain trading is managed by him, All farmers are to hand in their excess grain for payment and the assured protection of their land.

Defences

Lord Kasper keeps a garrison force of 50 trained men in the fort at all times and another 10 is always on patrol, a substantial force for such a small town. This is due to its proximity to the Marshlands.

Infrastructure

There is a over average well maintained road that leads to the capital from the area mostly because of the grain trade. There is over 20 windmills in relative proximity to the town an unusually high amount for the town size.

History

Karstown was originally a small farm called Karl's farm which is were the town got its name. The land around has a naturally rich soil and is the only place on the west side of Celdem that is well suited for large scale farming. The farm was officially recognized as a town in 4E921 by Lord Korsec Farbich The II. For a long time around the years 4E1010 the town was more known for its fort than its farms as it was the best defensible area in the region under the so called Marsh-tides where a warlord tried to rally outlaws and bandits from the Marshlands to a full war against Celdem.   

Lord Miller

  When the threat from the south subsided the fort was handed over by the state to the most influential farmer in the area Aftur in the year E41021. The then newly lorded Aftur is seen as the towns is seen as the towns most important figure, he was known to help everyone that needed it and was the one that organized the grain trade system the town has to day. He ensured everyone had what they needed to be efficient at their job, including helping setting up one of the best blacksmiths in the region. Aftur also started the construction of several windmills for the town to make meal to sell instead of hole grain which further increased the value when brought to marked in nearby cities. The fort around this time obtained the name Miller's Castle because of the windmills Aftur was setting up, Aftur embraced this and took the name as his own and was then obronze
