The Circle of Ravens

To the common people, the circle of ravens are nothing but demonic killers, but deep within lie expertly trained assassins that pray to the deity known as the Raveness, a powerful force that serves those who seek a murderous fate for another. Through special ritual and the secrecy of the circle, the Raven-Kin have been doing this for centuries.

The organization is wishing to grow in numbers, to reclaim the glory and size they once had in the past.

Mythology & Lore

To the worshippers of The Raveness, each kill brings power to The Raveness, in turn giving her more energy to bless them with her gifts and mercy. The Raven-kin are unknowingly brainwashed to forget their past lives all the way up to when they first became a Raven-kin. These Raven-kin are then strenuously trained in the art of murder, used to fuel their mysterious deity. They all follow the command of not only The Raveness however, they also follow the command of The Voice of the Raveness, the only one who has the ability to hear The Raveness herself. It is the highest honor of the group and there can only be one at a time, Hand picked by The Raveness herself. There have been many through the years, the most recent one being Jazad the Wise, but other well known ones known throughout the group are, Heral the Great, Kilzo the Brutal, Artagod the Forgiven, and Targov the First, Targov being the first Voice of the Raveness, said to have met The Raveness in person many many centuries ago.

Tenets of Faith

Within the Circle of Ravens, one must uphold these sacred tenants:
One must never remove the Mask of the Raven, unless within the walls of the sanctum, or within a room of complete privacy. Never betray the Circle of Ravens or its secrets. Never disobey or refuse to carry out an order from a superior. Never steal the possessions of a Raven Kin. One must never kill a Raven Kin. Never form an attachment to others, stranger and Ravenkin alike.

Worship

To call upon the aid of the circle of ravens, one must preform the summoning ritual. The Ritual consists of writing the assassination contract in either one’s blood or the blood of another. The note is then tied to the leg of a Raven, and sent into the sky after the phrase “Fly to The Raveness, so that my favor shall be graced by her mercy."

Granted Divine Powers

To some, the Raveness grants magical weaponry through enchantments, and minor charms to those who deserve them.
