Humans are a diverse and adaptable species known for their ability to achieve greatness in whatever they pursue. While lacking natural abilities compared to other races, humans make up for it with their ability to work together to achieve their goals. They come in a variety of skin colors, hair colors, and eye colors, making them hard to pinpoint as a species. Humans are creatures of nurture and circumstance, thriving in a range of environments and able to make harsh places habitable. They are also more susceptible to magic than most other species, allowing them to become great heroes or villains. However, their individualistic nature can lead to conflict and competition, and their susceptibility to greed, corruption, and cruelty can have devastating consequences.

Demon Kin, also known as Tieflings or Horned Humans, are the offspring of demons and mortals. Despite their demonic heritage, they are viewed as good luck by mortals and are admired by many for their striking looks. Depending on their type, they can range from unnaturally charming to borderline monstrous, and their appearance can include short horns, orbs of black for eyes, and a smooth tail. While their flesh tone is similar to humans, those with stronger blood ties to demons have skin in vibrant colors and eyes that come in a variety of shades. Despite their appearance, Demon Kin are viewed favorably by most and are often attributed to the accomplishments of their demonic ancestors. However, those who stray from the path of good or neutrality are hunted down by organizations, some of which are run by other Demon Kin. Tieflings have a standard to live up to, and their accomplishments are typically attributed to the demons that parented their ancestors. Thus, they are forever living up to their demon ancestors, and they typically choose a short and powerful name that fits their personality or purpose.
Dragonborns are proud creatures with a long history in Alune. They resemble dragons standing upright in humanoid form, with fine scales usually in brass or bronze color. Some dragonborns have scales that match those of their dragon ancestor, with colors ranging from bright red, green, blue, or white, to lustrous black, gold, silver, brass, copper, or bronze. Dragonborns have talonlike claws for hands and feet, and a long dragon-like tail. They do not know how they came to be, but they inherited their looks, breath attack, and pride from their dragon ancestry. Dragonborns are driven by perfecting themselves, and they push themselves to be the best. While they have a rite of passage called Sharping Their Claws, where they leave their clan to venture out and get stronger, it is rare for a dragonborn to be born outside of a clan. Many become adventurers, while others prefer a wandering lifestyle.
Dwarves who leave their own kingdoms often bring their skills as craftsmen and artisans to other lands. They are highly respected for their expertise in metalworking, stonemasonry, and engineering, especially when it comes to fortifications and defensive structures. Many dwarves become mercenaries or bodyguards, hired for their courage, loyalty, and combat skills. Some also work as traders or merchants, using their business acumen to make deals and amass wealth. However, even when living among other races, dwarves tend to keep to themselves and maintain their own traditions and customs. They often form small communities or enclaves within larger cities or settlements, and remain fiercely proud of their dwarven heritage.
Eldiarn is a race of elves that were born in the material plane after the fae merged with it. They are relatively new, with most being less than 200 years old, and are often outcasts. They have no heritage to the fae world and are mostly nomads, traveling from place to place. They are hauntingly beautiful, with unearthly grace and fine features. They are slightly shorter and more slender than humans, and their coloration encompasses the normal human range and also includes skin in shades of copper, bronze, and almost bluish-white, hair of green or blue, and eyes like pools of liquid gold or silver.
Goblins are a race that occupy a perilous place in the world, reacting with aggression towards any creatures they believe they can intimidate. They are cunning and vicious in battle, yet servile in defeat. Goblins are short in stature, with flat faces, broad noses, pointed ears, and large eyes that vary in color from red to yellow. Their skin ranges in color from yellow to orange to red, but is usually green. Young goblins are taught to be aggressive and ruthless, and to rely only on themselves for survival. While goblins are not inherently evil, they can be difficult to trust due to their love of mischief, greed, and short temper.
Gnomes are small creatures who live in close-knit communities filled with constant activity, invention, exploration, investigation, creation, and play. They have an insatiable interest in everything around them, and their energy and enthusiasm for living is evident in their appearance. Despite their long lifespan of three to five centuries, gnomes worry that they can't get in enough of the things they want to do and see. They love jokes but are also dedicated to the serious tasks they undertake, and many are skilled engineers, alchemists, tinkers, and inventors who are willing to take bold risks and dream big.
Halflings are small and nimble creatures who are adept at avoiding notice and offense in a world full of larger creatures. Despite their small size, they make up for it with their bravery and kindness, standing up to defend what is important to them and displaying remarkable ferocity when their friends, families, or communities are threatened. They are practical and concerned with basic needs and simple pleasures, with a knack for finding the most straightforward solution to a problem. Halflings are easily moved to pity and hate to see any living thing suffer, and are generous even in lean times.
Kobold
Kobolds are often underestimated as cowardly and weak, but they have a strong social structure and are skilled at tunneling and creating secure homes. They are conflict-avoidant and prefer to eat fish and small rodents, as well as grow their own food. Kobolds are dangerous when cornered or defending their eggs, and notorious for their improvised traps. They have specialized offspring to fit specific tasks and adapt quickly. Though they fear other mortals and are often bullied or enslaved, some brave kobolds explore the surface world amongst humans. They are often mistreated and viewed as pests, but kobolds worship dragons and believe they will eventually become one.

Orcs are a race of adaptive beings with hulking forms, tough skin, and primal intuition. They have sharp tusks, wear thick furs or armor, and adorn their bodies with warpaint, tattoos, and piercings. Orcs prioritize tribes above all else, considering them to be families that can include a variety of creatures and even the land itself. Despite their violent reputation, orc tribes are ruled by females and have a hierarchy that is established through fights, with chemical or instinctual abilities determining who stands above who. Orcs are scavengers and survivalists, consuming the dead and wearing their fallen to honor them. They are not necessarily war-loving but will raid neighboring lands for resources if they need to.
