The Merican Empire exerts its power through trade.
The Atlantic wastes are harsh and troubling to travel between. There are a few places that are easier than others.
The trade routes across atlan wastelands into Africa can be extremely costly as much of the equatorial passage are controlled by Hybrazilian parties/interests. During this particular period. Merican colonists/industrialist tried setting up a port on an island plateau just before the dangerous atlan wastle crossing.
The Hybrazilians did not like this.
Proxy conflicts were fought.
At some point hybrazilian rulership had had enough and declared war.
In response, the Merica Empire also declared war and sent there own expedition to support the Merican interests.
