The Precursors

Most of what is known about the precursors has been lost to time. And what is known about them in the modern age has been warped into myth and Legend. The Precursor Civilization The Precursors Lived 10,000 + year before the Birth of Christ.

Powers of the Precursors

The Precursors where both more Technology advanced and Far behind modern society. There sociaty advanced nano Tech beyond what was believed possible. They managed to advance the Tech to the point of granting themselves super-human abilities. But this came at a cost. They doubled down on that and neglected all other forms of tech. and thoughts that lived without powers lived in squalor.

Power Limitation & Ceremony

The Nanites though Highly advanced. Required Very large amounts of energy to kickstart them. The Precursors used a ceremony where they utilized the power of the sun to kickstart the Nanites. This was done on the summer solstice where the sun would be able to radiate down for the longest period. Initializing an array of stones and solar reflectors the Precursors concentrated the solar energy onto the individual who had just been injected with the nanites and from sunrise to sunset the new powered individual would be bathed in the light of the sun. after which they would emerge from the circle a fully powered precursor
As you would expect this Ceremony requires full sunlight for as long as possable. so this was done on the Longest day of the year Powers were used to ensure that there would be no cloud cover

Class Distinction of the Precursors

The Precursors were divided into 4 classes;

The Nobles

This was the ruling class. of this class there were 2 types of nobles. the Awaiting Noble and the Full Noble. the Awaiting noble was simply an individual of a noble bloodline who was waiting for there ceremony to bestow them there powers. The awaiting nobles were still considered nobles by social standing but did not have the political power of a full noble. the Full noble was someone of the noble bloodline who has been given there powers. these are the Lawmakers, generals, Governors, ect.

Keepers

The Keepers are the learned individuals who tend and administer the Nanites and tend to the powered. These are often Doctors, Nanite Specialists, Advisors, Scolors, ext. These individuals where unpowered but highly trained in how to tend the Nanites. it was this Class that origanly created the Nanites in the first place. but when the knowledge was lost they kept it a highly guarded secret only known by the elite of society. Similar to the noble class you had to be born into this class

Soldier

This Class was the backbone of the Precursors society. they were the army of the nobles. and while they were powered there nanites were weaker resulting in lower PL then the Nobles. but they were also the most plentiful of powered Individuals. While it was common for Soldier to be born into this class the growing need for soldiers often required that people be pulled from the commoner class. in peace time these indivduals were put to use building many of the monuments that where common in that age

Commoner

This was the most common. people in this class often lived in very poor conditions and were more often then not indentured servants. very commonly treated poorly to keep them in line. they are the ones that grew the food and produced the general goods

Fall of the Precursors

The fall of the Precursors was inevitable from the day they lost the knowledge to create the Nanites that are the cause of modern society. A group of Nobles descovered the secrets of the Nanites. and sensing the fall of there civilization they attempted to change how the nanites worked and removed the dependency on them. this was a direct threat to the other nobles who used the nanites to maintain control over the civilization. taking one of the armies the retreated to one of the teritories of the Civilization located in modern day Ireland. using the army at their disposal. they started experimenting on the army they were issued
These Nobles figured out how to meld the Nanites with the human body. after the discovery by the other nobles a civil war started between the civilization with every noble family being forced to choose sides. the Rebels were eventually defeated and imprisoned in the very lab they preformed their experiments. but in an effort to show their enemies they were wrong. they found how to disable to the nanites and build a failsafe in the event they lost the war. finally years after their imprisonment their failsafe trigered and powers for the Precursors were shut off. and in a night the entire Precursors civilization sank beneath the sea
