Appraise
Level 1 Divination
(Bard, Cleric, Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard) Casting Time: Action or RitualRange: Touch
Components: V, S, M (an abacus, scales, or other object used to weigh goods)
Duration: Instantaneous You touch a non-living object throughout the spell's casting. Provided the item is nonmagical, legal to trade, and not cursed, disguised, or otherwise magically obscured, you discern the object's approximate market value in standard currency (i.e. GP). The value you perceive is the baseline price under normal, lawful trade, under normal circumstances. If the object is otherwise illegal to trade, you learn as such. If the object is part of a larger collection no larger than 1 cubic foot, such as a gem from a necklace, you may choose to appraise just the part you touch or the whole item, at the GM's discretion. If the object has magical properties, you can discern whether they are likely to increase or decrease its value, but no further details. You also detect whether the object is cursed, disguised, or otherwise magically obscured, but not how.
