Yakuza (ˈjækuːzə/)
The Oni-Kai Yakuza are one of the most powerful organized crime factions in Neo-Boston, but they do not reign unchallenged. Locked in a brutal and ongoing battle for supremacy with the Winter Hill Gang, the Oni-Kai seeks to expand its dominance, while the entrenched Irish Mob refuses to cede its historic foothold. The war between these two syndicates has transformed sections of the city into battlegrounds, where deals are brokered in blood and control shifts block by block.
Aspects:
Suicidality Loyal
Operations & Influence
The Oni-Kai’s criminal empire is built on a foundation of extortion, high-stakes gambling, drug and human trafficking, and underground cybernetics distribution. Their dominance extends beyond Neo-Boston, with international ties to other Yakuza syndicates, facilitating a vast network of smuggling, assassination contracts, and black-market trade. However, their expansion in the city is checked by the Winter Hill Gang, which continues to control major rackets, protection schemes, and gun-running operations, making the streets a dangerous place for anyone caught between them.
Territories
The Oni-Kai rule Chinatown with an iron grip, controlling commerce, protection rackets, and underground gambling dens. Their influence spreads into the Jade District and much of the Uptown entertainment sector, where they control clubs, illicit betting rings, and VR dens. The docks of Neo-Boston remain a key stronghold, where the Oni-Kai oversee smuggling operations and cargo theft, ensuring their criminal empire continues to thrive despite the ever-present corporate oversight. However, in South Boston, Charlestown (Old Town), and Winter Hill, the Winter Hill Gang stands firm, defending their historic territories with ruthless efficiency and old-school loyalty.
To cross the Oni-Kai is to invite swift and merciless retribution, but in Neo-Boston’s underworld, no one holds power forever. The battle for the city's criminal empire is far from over, and the war between the Yakuza and the Irish Mob is only escalating.
