Aerodyne (ˈer-ə-ˌdīn)

The Aerodyne or Aerodyne Vehicle, commonly abbreviated as AV (pronounced "Ay-Vee"), is an aircraft powered by ducted jet fans, closely resembling a flying automobile.    
  First introduced in 2036. These "flying cars" were originally a rich man's toy. They are now much more common, though still have not ascended to prominence due to the exorbant, but dropping, prices and difficulty in operating. Similar to electric car technology it is expected they will continue to become easier to use and cheaper as their technology improves.

Invented in 2030 and approved for civilian use in 2036.
