Humans are a species from planet Earth in the sol system. Over thousands of years they have developed through wars and disasters into a space traveling culture and first colonized their own solar system and finally distant stars.
Ultimately, however, they were forced to abandon their home planet because they had made it uninhabitable by exploiting natural resources and destroying the climate system.
