Personal history

Doctor: I was fascinated with 2 things as a kid, politics and science, being taught both by my mother, science stuck a little harder than the politics, so when i was trying to be a diplomat it didn't blow over well, I was seen as a young child who didn't know what I was doing so I went to science instead, using my lessons of human anatomy to become a doctor.
Regularly treated a combat medic, Raj Manir, from SSS Corp, he often gave Barry information used in SSS Corp Military Medical Operations. Raj Manir soon became CONTACT.
Over time, one of Raj Manir's associated suspected him of giving Military secrets to Barry after seeing him perform a very specific technique for resuscitation typically used in battlefield training. Raj was followed and seen giving Barry specific documentation on other medical procedures. Both Raj and Barry were arrested and Barry spent over a year in a SSS Prison. This brought a lot of heat from New Eden government towards SSS Space, claiming they had no right to Jail one of their citizens for simply trying to improve the likelihood in saving lives. SSS eventually released Barry due to long standing good relations between them and the Eden people. He was pardoned personally by Michelle Vaughn.
While trying to save a patient, Barry overcharged the defibrillator to try and bring her back to life. Unfortunately this resulted in the defib blowing up, debris and flames cutting and burning his hands, forearms and throat, almost killing him. He often tries to hide his scars as he sees them as the physical manifestation of his own failure. The patient didn't make it.
Barry thought he discovered a cure to nerve failing, like how some injuries leave people unable to use certain parts of their bodies, the procedure was a way to try and repair the nerves that were damaged from the injury so people didn't have to get prosthetics if they couldn't afford it. A benefactor, Zhan Ping of Xin Kongjian, impressed by his claims pushed for the procedure to become available faster. Due to the request and subsequent donation Barry didn't wait before all clinical trials were complete before performing the operation on humans. While the first four patients were all successful, all having damage to their arms, the fifth patient, Kyo Nguyen, with leg damage was not. The procedure caused more harm than good and he had to have his leg amputated. While Zhan did pay for prosthetic replacement for Kyo, Kyo never forgave Barry and got enough backing to have Barry's medical license revoked. Barry was able to eventually get his medical license back but is no longer allowed to work on Victor Station.
