Archmage Arabel Leventis
Archmage Arabel Leventis was one of the two siblings credited for liberating Aeziron from the Archons of Trax. Her brother is the late King Finlay Leventis. Ever since Arabel was a young child, she was favored by Ephara. As such, she was capable of channeling the goddess' magic.
Arabel and Finlay were raised in the training grounds for the Traxian army. They grew up to be hoplites loyal to the empire. Here, Arabel learned to harness her magic for battle. This would be quite useful to her later on in life when her and her brother decided to liberate Aeziron.
After establishing Eione, she founded the Towers of Arcadia upon old Kalashtar ruins in Galene. She is credited for much else, like creating Eione’s first laws, establishing the monarch, and so on. Those that knew Arabel remembers the calm, intelligent person that she was. She always had a dull attitude about her, and a very deadpan sense of humor. Despite this, she was incredibly clever, and always knew what strings to pull to get what she wanted.
History
Arabel’s Birth (120 BKD). Both Arabel Leventis and her twin brother, Finlay Leventis, were born the morning of Lyokymion the 30thth, 120 BKD. They were born the polis of Eione, but back then it was nothing more than military training grounds for the Trax. Arabel and Finlay were born to Desma Leventis, a hoplite for the Traxian army. Their father is unknown. With no where else to go, the twins were raised in the training grounds. And, naturally, they became Traxian hoplites themselves later on in life. Desma’s Death (10 BKD). The life of Traxian hoplites were harsh. When Desma got seriously injured on the battle field, her superiors saw her as a “lost cause”, and left her to die. What little loyalty Arabel and Finlay had for the Traxian died that day. The Twins’ First Victory (6 BKD). For four years the twins silently planned out the demise of their military superiors. At some point this caught the attention of gods like Ephara, Heliod, and Thassa, who decided to support the twin’s goals. With the favor of the gods, Arabel and Finlay killed the superiors that left their mother to die. They rallied other hoplites subjected to Trax’s cruelness, and they seized control of the training grounds. The Amphora, Ephara's Bazon (5 BKD). The twins knew their work wasn’t over. In hopes to aid her along her travels, Ephara gifted Arabel her very own amphora, Bazpn. Bazon granted Arabel magical protection, allowed her to command others, and gave her a plethora of spells to cast. March to Arethusa, the Liberation of Mankind (5 AKD). The rebelling hoplites knew their victory would mean nothing if the Traxian Empire retaliated. It was time for things to change, for a new era without the Trax. So led by Arabel and Finlay, the hoplites marched west to Arethusa, the polis of the empire, and where the tyrant Agnomakhos lived. On their way to Arethusa, they made stops at many towns and cities along the way, most notable being Lyria. They helped civilians break free, and amassed an army large enough to fight Trax. Then when they finally made it to Arethusa, they launched a vicious onslaught on the capital. Many people on both sides died. The rebelling army’s main goal was to buy time, while Arabel and Finlay infiltrated the castle. Using weapons and magic granted to them by the gods, they killed Agnomakhos. The rest of the Traxian empire soon followed their leader’s demise. The castle of Arethusa sunk into the ocean, and the archons were driven out of Aeziron. Finally, there was peace. Founding Eione (1 AKD). Together, Arabel and Finlay Leventis established the underwater polis of Eione, built where their old training grounds once were. Although Finlay ruled as Eione’s first king, Arabel still had a vital role she played in the polis. As Archmage, she helped established many laws, before setting her sights on education. The Towers of Arcadia (9 AKD). Arabel soon turned her interest to Galene, a town ruined by Trax before becoming apart of Eione. In hopes to honor the Kalashtar that once lived here, she turned their ruined towers into magical colleges known as the “Towers of Arcadia”. She headed the institution for centuries, hoping to share her passion for magic with others. Arabel’s Disappearance (308 AKD). At some point, the Archmage disappeared. There was no trace of her left behind. To this day, no one knows what happened to her, but it is assumed that she’s long since dead.Occupation | Archmage, Founder and Head of the Arcadian Towers |
