The Great Burning

In the year 1375 RE, residents of the city nticed the sun stand still in the sky far longer than it should have. Soon after, bolts of blue energy stuck the city from the bay. Large swaths of destuction were carved, targetting the harbor and coastal structures. Many were caught in time loops of terror and destruction. A vessel slammed into beaches and surviving witnesses claim a huge glowing crystal was taken from the ship. Arcs of temporal energy were launched as an all out atack on the city.
Survivors cannot explain it, but somehow, glowing shields of pure white light appeared at key locations across the city to absorb the discharges. Soon after, a large black cloud swirled into existance over the beach and the attackers and crystal vanished. Much of the harbor district was leveled and burning. The Great Library of Xandria burned with blue flames, and many lives were lost in the strike.
Soon after, dark clouds spread from the mountains at the center of the continent. In the following months, it became clear that an organization known as the Shadow Web was responsible for the attack and for the mysterious arcane happenings that occured soon after. In the aftermath, the city struggled to recover. Many fear the Scarlet Sun Syndicate established a foothold in the city while Lord Ezranor tried to rally the people and rebuild.
