Despite her frailty at the age of late 70s, her sharp mind and noble demeanor had earned her a distinguished place among the King's Council. Lady Windermere was renowned not only for her wisdom but also for the vast and prosperous lands that she held, making her a prominent figure in the kingdom.
Lady Windermere's holdings, known for their fertile fields and rich resources, became the covetous target of Corwyn Twistfern, the cunning Gnome who led Novaria's merchant guild. Twistfern, a shrewd and ambitious individual, saw an opportunity to expand his influence and wealth by seizing Lady Windermere's lands and titles for himself.
Knowing that Lady Windermere was both physically frail yet mentally formidable, Twistfern decided to employ underhanded means to achieve his sinister goal. He began by subtly spreading rumors and lies about Lady Windermere's health, suggesting to the King's Council that she was unfit to manage her vast estates. The whispers reached the ears of some council members, casting doubts on Lady Windermere's ability to fulfill her duties.
Unbeknownst to Lady Windermere, Twistfern also orchestrated a series of economic disruptions within her territories. By manipulating trade routes and inciting unrest among the local populace, he aimed to create an atmosphere of chaos that would further weaken Lady Windermere's position. As the challenges mounted, the elderly noble found herself facing a web of deceit that threatened not only her lands but also her standing in the kingdom.
Lady Windermere has received word from her steward that she is needed back in Ardentia immediately, to meet the rising threat posed by Twistfern's machinations - the question remains, however; is the road to Ardentia safe to travel?
