Mathiz (a.k.a. The Dragon's Eye)

It was uncharacteristic for a green dragon to bolster such keen senses. But Mathiz was no ordinary green dragon. The most intelligent of his kind, he led the scouting missions against the Giants during the Great Dragon War. Without his incredibly accurate eyesight, the Royal Flight would not have caught warning of the Storm Giant's advance on the shores of Heartford. Thus, he became known as the Dragon's Eye.
But it wasn't always this way. Mathiz was the weakest of his brethren when he was just a wyrmling, bullied by his brothers and sister for being weak and he was much smarter than they were as well, causing him to be outcast and shunned. But with his trials and tribulations as a young dragon, Mathiz began to use his mind and other assets to form strategies that would overpower his kin without the need for brute force. Most other green dragons relied heavily on their use of poisons and prowess in battle, where Mathiz relied on his ability to analyze details.
As he grew he began to realize that he was also able to see much clearer and further than his brethren. Giving him an advantage during scouting exercises and hunting, he became calculated, strategic, and predatory. Once he was able to hone his abilities, he quickly became one of the greatest assets the Green Dragonflight could offer to the Royal Flight.
Although his keen eyesight and knack for strategy were unmatched, he was still a much weaker dragon and he fell unceremoniously during one of the final battles of the Great War, leaving behind only his legacy and a few wyrmlings of his own. It is said that the green dragons that reside in the deepest parts of Oakenweald are descended from Mathiz, and possess his great keen eyesight and strategic prowess.
