The Dawn War
Military actionThe primordials, recognizing the threat that mortals bring, win the chromatic dragons to their side and wage war against the gods and the mortal races. A great conflict ensues with the early races, metallic dragons, Gods, on one side and the primordials and chromatic dragons on the other. The gods and humanity win out and the primordials are defeated. The chromatic dragons flee to hidden places in the world and bide their time.

The good-aligned Gods banish the Dark Pact into the Great Divide in the Nine Hells which prohibits them from entering the material plane.

In rebuilding the world, magic becomes incredibly advanced under the tutelage if the metallic dragons and is the primary tool of rebuilding civilization. Mountains made of pure diamond, the floating continent of Divrassa, and the automatons are all testaments to the advancement of pure magic. In their hubris, mankind believed themselves the equal of the Gods.

The Devastation
Military actionBelieving in false promises of immortality, an immensely powerful group of wizards brings the Dark Pact across the Great Divide, believing they could control them and learn their secrets. They are corrupted and are led to open a portal to the nine hells in Ghor Dranas (where Arrestok exists today) where a devilish horde pours out to begin a war called The Devastation. This war lasts for three hundred years and ultimately results in the destruction of most of the known world and it's wonders. Eventually, the mortal races win out. However, all history is lost from this time and five thousand years of progress has been destroyed. The Dark Alliance is again cast into the Great Divide. In alliance with the remaining mortal races, the Final Archway is created to prevent the Dark Alliance from returning to the world. The Final Archway limits the Gods sphere of influence to their non-material realms. While they can still imbue others with their power, they are prohibited from entering the material planes to affect the world.
