Mythology & Lore

In the realm of Aethrim, there once lived a humble and wise human named Aridain. He possessed a profound thirst for knowledge and sought a deeper understanding of the world and the divine. Aridain dedicated his life to contemplation, meditation, and acts of kindness, striving to embody virtues such as compassion, wisdom, and enlightenment. As time passed, Aridain's reputation for his wisdom and benevolence spread far and wide, reaching the ears of The God Beyond, the enigmatic deity who created all existence. Intrigued by Aridain's unwavering devotion to righteousness and his genuine desire to help those in need, The God Beyond chose to bestow divine favor upon him.   One fateful night, as Aridain sat in deep meditation, communing with the cosmos, a radiant golden light enveloped him, as Aridain left the physical world his spirit came before an image of an ancient golden dragon. It was The God Beyond, bestowing upon him the sacred gift of divine enlightenment. Aridain's mortal form transcended the boundaries of flesh and mortality, ascending into godhood.   Now a divine being, Aridain became the god of the common folk, the patron of the humble and the downtrodden. His followers, inspired by his teachings and the miracles he performed, became known as Aridains. They looked to him as their guiding light, seeking his wisdom and guidance in their daily lives.   As the god of the common folk, Aridain blessed his followers with compassion, empathy, and the strength to face life's challenges with grace. He listened to their prayers, offering solace and guidance in times of need. His divine presence brought hope to those who felt forgotten, reminding them that they were seen and loved.   The Aridains, inspired by their god's example, embraced his teachings and strived to live by his virtues. They devoted themselves to acts of kindness, practiced meditation and self-reflection, and sought to foster harmonious communities where all were treated with compassion and respect.   Through Aridain's guidance, the Aridains found solace and purpose, knowing that their god walked beside them in spirit. They formed a tight-knit community, supporting one another and spreading Aridain's teachings throughout the realm.   And so, the legend of Aridain the Illuminated, the mortal who transcended death and ascended into godhood, became woven into the fabric of Aethrim's mythology. His divine presence brought hope, enlightenment, and comfort to the common folk, forever etching his name in the hearts of the Aridains and inspiring generations to come.
